NEW ALBUM SOON
Introduction:
Hi, I am Daniel Varga. Thank you so much for checking out our album. Where should I start? This is my debut album as a jazz saxophonist, and the debut album of this quartet. I have been working and practicing this program for the past 5-6 years, but the story of this record is even longer than that. Because, it's not just about the music, but about the people who are playing on this album. These fantastic musicians, friends, classmates encouraged me, inspired me and helped me to develop my own sound and vision for the past 8 years. I met Piotr Lipowicz in 2013, when I started studying jazz saxophone at the University of Performing Arts and Music of Graz. We were classmates, bandmates, then friends, then best friends and flatmates, he was even my best man at my wedding. He and Ivar Krizic were playing in all of my projects. They were my main people. One day a friend of Lipowicz came to Graz, to hang and jam. This friend was Piotr Budniak, the drummer of this album and band. We started playing in different setups in Poland, Austria, and Hungary. And the friendship and music just kept developing. Now after 8 years, finally you can hear it on an official album.
I would like to thank Piotr, Ivar and Piotr for investing so much time, energy and love into my music. Also this album wouldn't be possible without the acknowledged Polish - Hungarian friendship, which brought us the opportunity to record this album. Thank you so much Waclaw Felczak Foundation for the support to make my dreams come through.
"The albums of the Felczak Records series communicate with music, the most universal language, to demonstrate the friendship between the Polish and Hungarian nations, which is nourished by emotions, thoughts and shared values rooted in the historical past. This is what ensures that this friendship, which sets an example for Europe as well, can be sustained and enriched with new contents in the future, too." - wfa.hu
